Rohit Land Development Celebrates the Grand Opening of its Newest Development Heritage at Parsons Creek in Fort McMurray

Edmonton, AB— On September 18, Rohit Land Development—a division of Rohit Group of Companies—celebrated the Grand Opening of its newest subdivision Heritage at Parsons Creek in Fort McMurray, AB. Mayor Melissa Blake of the Municipality of Wood Buffalo  was on-hand to deliver a message about the importance of this project in providing much-needed housing in the fast-growing city.

The ceremony took place at the entrance into the subdivision, and Mayor Blake—along with Rohit Group owners Radhe and Krishna Gupta—did the honours of cutting the ribbon, officially announcing the subdivision’s opening to the public. The first families have already begun to move in—a full year earlier than scheduled.

Also in attendance were Wood Buffalo Councillors Allan Glenn Vinni, Jane Stroud, and Russell Thomas. Rohit Land Development Vice President Russell Dauk and Senior Project Manager Luciano Salvador were also present; both men were highly influential in the planning and execution of the project. Many of the partners and contractors who helped make Heritage at Parsons Creek a tremendous success also attended, including representatives from the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, Urban Development Institute Wood Buffalo, and Alberta Infrastructure.

“Through the collaborative efforts of the province, the Municipality of Wood Buffalo, and our numerous partners, Heritage at Parsons Creek is a true testament to what can be achieved when everyone is working together,” said Russell Dauk in a speech given at the ribbon-cutting ceremony. “Everyone who worked on this project should be proud of the community they have built, as the new residents will be very proud to call it their home.”

All attendees were asked to sign a scroll to commemorate the event. It will be placed inside a time capsule, among other items such as newspaper clippings and aerial photos showing the progression of the project, which will be buried at the entrance feature of the subdivision. A reception at MacDonald Island followed the ceremony and wrapped up the day’s celebration.
